It was time to return to Prince George (about 700 km). I absolutely wanted to fish the Bulkley. We took off with daylight, but soon it became dark. When we passed Hell´s Gate, it was pitch black night and there was drizzling rain. Passing cars flashed their headlights and made signs pointing back. Unfortunately there were very few opportunities to pull over and stop. A few more kms farther we reached one such opportunity. One of the four tires on our trailer was completely ablaze. If it hadn´t been for the rain, the whole trailer would have been burned to ashes. This cost us four hours before we could continue our trip.
From Prince George to Smithers on the Bulkley is a 370 km drive. As I was alone now, I left the trailer. One night at -4° Centigrade I figured I could spend in the car. Being alone often makes it impossible to take photographs of Steelhead. My nymph appealed to four of them. Unfortunately the water was rather hight, although gin clear. Some spots were not accessible due to high water. In the afternoon I started for Prince George. I had a few days of work ahead of me. The vehicles had to be prepared for winter. After all, they were supposed to function again next year.
My friend from Prince George took me to Vancouver. As he wanted to visit family in Vancouver, this was a perfect occasion. I can only repeat how much I thank him for his help. The hotel where I spent the last night has a shuttle service to the airport. The rest of the way back home was practically routine. This ends my report on this trip. Numerous little problems go unmentioned. Despite all obstacles, I´ll be back in BC, come what may.

Weekly pictures on my site Fabisch Fly Fishing will be moved to my Weekly Picture Archive after one week. There they will be available for an indefinite period of time in the same scale. If you like the Weekly Picture Page, you may select Google + on my homepage.
.
The Weekly Picture is supposed to deal with flyfishing, fly tying or nature and will be renewed (almost) every week on friday.

.
Seen over a whole year, the weekly picture archive would blow up any reasonable size for a website. For this reason, the weekly pictures come in several archives of the respective year. The number of archives per year is between three and five.
.
Technical info: The size I normally use is 936px x 450px. I will resort to other dimensions only if the motive absolutely requires such procedures. The pictures have been processed in CS2 according to my possibilities
Links to this page of mine will be appreciated. Incoming links will be vetted periodically to avoid any misappropriation. Most of the pictures will be my own, but I wouldn't mind publishing pictures from other sources as well. To avoid any legal problems, I will publish pictures from other sources only if their origin is identified beyond any doubt, and if the copyright is with the person putting them at my disposal.
Enjoy, Wolfgang.
